Classical data transfer protocols usually require several copies of data in intermediate buffers before and after transmission through the network.
In order to enhance performances, PCI-DDC implements a "remote write" primitive that directly fetch data from the local memory - in user space - and writes data directly into the remote memory - in user space too. This is a "Direct Deposit" Protocol. Furthermore, the sender processor defines the physical address where it wants the data to be written into the remote memory. This is a "StateLess Receiver" Protocol.
